Aloe Vera Refreshing Spray Mixture Recipe

I SWEAR by this refreshing spray. I use it every single day to hydrate my hair because it has made my life SOOOO much easier!

I realized pretty early on in my journey that science doesn't lie. Because our hair is curly our natural oils can't make their way down from the scalp all the way to the ends of their hair the way straight hair can do.

Curls are naturally much more dry because the natural oils of your scalp can't make their way down the spirals of your hair in time to moisturize it. Which leads to frizz and even breakage.

That is why hydration is so important for our hair. After learning this fact, I went a bit overboard and started adding too much product to my hair. The result was extremely weighed down curls. What's the point of definition if you have no volume to show for it?

I soon figured out we are NEVER supposed to apply product to our roots. Trust me, it doesn't help halo frizz.

Instead just using this spray to saturate your hair every single day. Aloe Vera is a great moisturizer for hair so half aloe and half water is just the dream team of hair moisturizers. The essential oil you add is totally up to you! I suggest lavender because of it's moisturizing properties.

I noticed after I started incorporating this spray into my routine I no longer needed conditioner AND gel on refresh days. To be super honest, I only apply gel one day a week! Since Aloe Vera is also a natural sealant it quenches frizz and helps promote clumping!

Another benefit of this spray is overtime aloe helps increase hair growth! Aloe also overtime also helps hair retain more moisture! Seriously! You can't lose when you opt from natural DIY recipes instead of insanely expensive refreshing sprays like DevaCurl Mist-er Right spray. Do you know the Mist-er Right is essentially just lavender and water?! You are paying over $20 bucks for something that costs you less than half to make on your own! Not to mention, way more added benefits!

Give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments!

    1. Most of the time I just use a refresh spray like this, very rarely do I need an extra product like a gel. If you feel you need more hold absolute add it ❤️

Everything You Need to Know About Hair Porosity (Including Tips for High and Low Porosity)

Photo Credit: Google Understanding your hair's porosity is by far one of the most valuable pieces of information you can possess when it comes to the health of your crown. Porosity dictates the pattern in which your hair absorbs and loses moisture. This will be invaluable when it comes time to pick the right products for your mane. Always remember, your hair is unique, your body chemistry, your genes, elements you are exposed to are all unique to you. This is why I always advise all new followers and fans to never compare your hair to someone else's, even your own family! (DNA is unique to each person, yes you share some DNA with family but you will still have unique features and chemistry.) I also always say, when introducing yourself to the Curly Girl Method, the first thing you should do is look up porosity and figure out which porosity your hair is, because in the long run this will save you SO much money and time! I know every fellow product junkie reading this arti...
