Not everyone can get a solid gel cast after they apply their products to wet hair. I never really had this problem. Normally I get a cast from just conditioner! But, I wanted to help fix a problem I know many curly girls go through...
So here's a little tip that has helped me throughout my journey.
After I finish styling my hair, (conditioner and gel) I always apply my clips for volume at the crown of my head I always scrunch out the excess water and product. Normally, that's the last step of the routine, but not for me.
I always grab a little bit of alcohol free hairspray like the one pictured above.
Make sure whenever you use hairspray, you follow the directions written on the bottle.
At least six to eight inches away from your hair.
Remember that cans like this (either hairspray or mousse if it comes in a can like this) contain propane and butane which are very drying, highly flammable ingredients).
That's why I use very little. If after a few uses you feel your hair is getting too dry just cease use and deep condition!
This tip might work better in the summers, since winter is already sooo drying for hair.
